FINALLY! After many delays the Canadian Pop Music Encyclopedia is coming this November 2011.

From the webpages of www.canoe.ca
comes the internet website that's now a book.

Over 13 years in the making, The Canadian Pop Music Encyclopedia was conceived by Canadian music biographer Jaimie Vernon through the original Toronto Sun website on July 1st, 1998. And since it's launch, Canadian music fans have demanded the resource in book form. Understandably, a fragile publishing industry in Canada has been unwilling to take on such a massive project.

But, finally, the print version of the Encyclopedia will see the light of day on November 29th exclusively through Bullseye Records of Canada as an on-demand 350 page 8 x 10" formatted book containing discographies and biographies for more than 2,000 of Canada's most celebrated major label and independent music acts spanning 60 years of Canadian popular music with a focus on Pop, Rock, Folk and Singer-songwriter genres.

The book will also feature exclusive and previously unseen photographs, artist quotes and anecdotes, and music links for tracking down your favourite Canadian music online.

That looks like Kim Mitchell on the cover. I'll probably pick this up before the dollar sinks any lower.

I'd like to get this as well. I'm interested in lot's of Canadian bands. I wonder if it includes producers as well like Jack Richardson (the George Martin of Canada) and Bob Ezrin. Now only if they would release a DVD of the Studio Q interviews that Jian hosted. Studio Q has a Youtube channel and I recommend checking out Brian Wilson and Alice Cooper's interview.
