Riot - 1977 Rock City
For the period it was released in, 'Rock City' can be seen as a sophisticated set of hard rock, with shades of metal and boogie.

Riot - 1979 Narita
'Narita' is a pretty heavy album for its time, and is a welcome and very much overdue addition to the GDM archives.

Riot - 1981 Fire Down Under
Boy, is there a story with this album! David vs Goliath.. Capitol Records vs the band Riot, and a whole lotta backroom dealing and shakin' goin' on.

Riot - 1983 Born In America
Riot could always be counted on for intense melody, crisply defined songs and great hooks. For those who enjoy some urgency and tend toward the harder end of AOR, 'Born In America' comes highly recommended listening.

Riot - 1988 Thundersteel
Often times compared to Judas Priest's 'Painkiller', 'Thundersteel' sounds less forced, fresher to me. And it was released two years before! Go get this timeless classic in any format!

Riot - 2006 Army Of One
And it's not as if they have been sporadic either (Boston anyone?), with a slew of albums recorded during the late 80's and into the 70's as well.

The Essential Series - 2017 US Hard Rock (Volume 1) by Dtabachn
The early days of American Hard Rock produced some classic LP's. Here's ten of the best as cherry-picked by Dave Tabachnik. And it's only Volume 1, with more to come..
