In response to Cyrille Regis, BBC 2 repeat the Adrian Chiles documentary, Whites v Blacks, How Football Changed A Nation, unbelievable true story, worth watching

There is a three-part article coming up for E.L.O (Eldorado, A New World Record and Out Of The Blue). Look out for it soon.

Stoke City condemned 2 relegation. Who is the new manager? Paul Lambert.

Agreed Reyno about Clyde Best, further back is the story of Walter Tull which is quite heartbreaking, links to Northampton and lived in Rushden.

Big loss is Cyrille, only short time at Wolves, but I was at the Peterborough game where he scored the last minute winner, Cyrille and Laurie C, what a team.

I think many people forget guys like West Ham's Clyde Best whenever the subject of the impact of black footballers in the English game crops up. He was just as good as the West Brom trio years b4

Cyrille was part of the ground breaking so called 'three degrees' who did so much to break down racial barriers in Football back in the late 70's.R.I.P

Blackjack (USA) - 1979 Blackjack
One important stop on Michael Bolton's path to stardom was his two album tenure with Blackjack, a forerunner to Bolton's rise to AOR icon in the 80's.

Blackjack (USA) - 1980 Worlds Apart
This is a long-lost AOR selection that deserves another look thirty odd years after its release.

Bolton, Michael - 1983 Michael Bolton
The importance of 'Michael Bolton' cannot be understated, if only for myself. I've heard a thousand AOR albums since, but for definitive AOR, this debut plus 1985's 'Everybody's Crazy', are the benchmarks for the genre. Simply my opinion.

Bolton, Michael - 1985 Everybodys Crazy
Despite the quality of 'Michael Bolton' the debut album from 1983, it was a commercial flop. It reached 100 on the Billboard Charts. Undeterred, Bolton forged ahead and went on to record what is regarded by many as the greatest pure AOR album ever.

Bolton, Michael - 1987 The Hunger
Of Michael Bolton's three mid to late 80's AOR masterpieces, 'The Hunger' is perhaps the least of the trio, but not in a sense that could be construed as negative. In fact the exact opposite. Another brilliant effort..

Bolton, Michael - 1989 Soul Provider
By 1989, Michael Bolton was well on his way toward commercial success. It was like the corporate machine was readying itself to assimilate Mr Bolton deep into the bowels of the money chamber. He manages on this album at least - to fire off a few good salvoes of AOR, and to demonstrate what it was he was leaving behind before disappearing over the horizon into mom and pop territory. 'Soul Provider' would be his proverbial meal ticket..

Bolton, Michael - 1991 Time Love And Tenderness
Michael Bolton, more or less a demi-god on this website, but by 1991 the rock was gone to be replaced by schmaltz. So holding my breath I enter the world of cover versions, lukewarm ballads but also the odd special moment.

Bolton, Michael - 1993 The One Thing
Why on earth would I spend a day revisiting the Bolton of the 70's? A period derided in melodic rock circles. Is this a courageous feat I will now perform or downright silly? You can decide..

Bolton, Michael - 2012 The Soul Of It All (Book)
I've carved up this book into four sections. The first three were interesting, the fourth less so. For those of us that totally bought into his 1983-1985 era hook line and sinker, it became abundantly clear why he had to drop the black leather look and lose the heavyweight guitars..
