Angel - 1975 Angel
This debut and the subsequent album 'Helluva Band' were to be the last of Angel's pomp pretensions before they moved in a more radio friendly direction. Needless to say both albums should be considered essential purchases for anyone wanting to discover the pomp rock genre.

Angel - 1976 Helluva Band
The debut Angel album still rates highly with many of us, less talked about is the follow up 'Helluva Band'. produced by Derek Lawrence, who also worked on the debut Legs Diamond album around the same time, this is arguably Angel's most progressive album..

Angel - 1977 On Earth As It Is In Heaven
Perhaps with the right production this album would have been different? The sound is lifeless and muddy, but it's the songs that matter and in the end they just don't cut it.

Angel - 1978 White Hot
'White Hot' didn't do that great on the charts in 1978, and would go largely unrecognised which was a bit unfair really, as this album contained some useful songs.

Angel - 1979 Sinful
One of the ultimate legends of AOR, Angel were the band that should have been a huge commercial success but were not.

Angel - 1980 Live Without A Net (Live)
As for Angel's prediction of success for this album in the same vein as fellow Casablanca team-mates Kiss? It ended up being no more than wishful thinking.

Angel - 1999 In The Beginning
Despite having reservations at the outset, I have to say some of this album was likeable. Maybe if they hadn't gone in under the Angel monicker, I wouldnt have had heart plapitaations beforehand. Nonetheless, if you like a bit of melodic rock that fuses Led Zeppelin, Kingdom Come and Masters Of The Airwaves, then 'In The Beginning' deserves a listen.

Bux - 1976 We Come To Play
Taking a trip back in time to the seventies we uncover a local area band out of Boston called Bux, featuring future Angel alumni..

Dimino - 2015 Old Habits Die Hard
Due to Angel's light having faded many decades ago to the general public, I'm thinking that this album is going to have limited appeal. Despite that, old fogies like most of us here will still be ok with that, however the young brigade will have no idea.

Meadows, Punky - 2016 Fallen Angel
The name Punky Meadows should really not need any introduction here on GDM. Punky has finally emerged from the shadows for this his first solo album and the first recorded material from the man in some 35 years.

The Essential Series - 2017 Power Pop (Volume 1), by Explorer
This particular list is all about my personal favourites of what I consider to be Power Pop, so in no particular order, Let's Shake Some Action!!

The Essential Series - 2017 US Hard Rock (Volume 1) by Dtabachn
The early days of American Hard Rock produced some classic LP's. Here's ten of the best as cherry-picked by Dave Tabachnik. And it's only Volume 1, with more to come..
