I have most of Van Wilks albums, including 'Bombay Tears' (thanks Keith). From 1979, we may yet get to this Texan six-stringer's albums in the near future. One of the biggest fans of VW is David Shaw.. Must be that Texan thing eh Dave?

Wow it's cool to see others into the great talent that is Van Wilks...I used to sell his CD's and they always did well...he is a great guitarist...real classic rockin' Texas blues sound.

Eric
He did an EP after (before?) 'Bombay Tears' didn't he? Pretty hard to find....

He's released 'Bombay Tears' for Phonogram in 1980 I think it was.

Then it was: 'Soul Of A Man' (1995), 'Kokos Hideaway' (1999), 'Texas Jukin' (2002) and 'Running From Ghosts' (2005). All of those were released on Texas 51 Records, which I assume to be his own label.

The last 4 are available at CDBaby.

Eric, you're correct about the EP. I have it. It's called 'Boystown' and was released on Alibi Records in 1982.
Interesting to see that 'Bombay Tears' is available on CD via his website.

I have a CD by Texas band Ultra, that morphed out of a band called Homer which featured Van Wilks. If you are like me and partial to Texan Hard Rock from the 70s then these Ultra is for you.

Tried this, but the PayPal links seem to be dead, unfortunately. Sad

Finally got it to work. I used the Internet Explorer (Chrome did not work), updated Java, accepted cookies, and there you go .....

I will let you know what the quality of the disc is like. I just hope it's not a CD-R .....

Postage costs are ramping up around the world. Trying to stay relevant, considering a lot of online purchases are digital, and letter correspondence has gone the way of email. Australia Post for instance, made their first annual loss in 2015, the first time in 30 years!

Hi Swazi, have you received the Bombay Tears CD yet? Curious to know the verdict on quality.

swazi
Nope, it has not arrived yet. But thanks for the reminder! I will send them an email.
