At the time of writing this article, this album has already been out on the market for a year. I decided to follow through with it because I had it in draft form for quite some time so it needed to be completed. As we've discussed on this website in recent days, in relation to the pitfalls of modern-day AOR and melodic rock, I guess this Swedish band could fall into that category. In trying to project themselves as being something a bit different, they end up being more or less the same as everybody else. Frontback are not original nor are they trying to rewrite the history books. They are caught up in their modern-day glam metal sound while still trying to incorporate some influences from the 80's era.

The Songs
The lead singer Anlo Front could be Doro Pesch reinvented, while the band could be any number of Swedish bands over recent times making them indistinguishable from the pack. There's a lot of bang, crash wallop on 'Heart Of A Lion', and musically, Frontback sound pretty component, but then again so do many other Swedish glam metal outfits. Is there a point of difference with these songs? Not really if truth be told. We get the typical shout-out-loud vocal chants, all the usual power chords and stand-ip lead guitar posing. The songs sort of flew by me and before long we reached the end of the album.

In Summary
Frontback obviously have some potential, but it wasn't realised on this album. Back to the drawing board I would suggest.
