As some of you have probably read from my recent article on this German band a few days ago, I totally got into these guys mad-dash style of metal. Yes it's very old school 80's stuff, with trad metal and speed metal combined. A band like this was common fare on labels such as Mausoleum during 1983 for instance, and the dress code is similarly of the era, with bullet belts, skant tee-shirts, studded gloves and bandoliers the go-to attire. Well, it took the band three years to deliver their second album. What's the go? Maybe this quintet all have day jobs. Who knows. I'm glad they are still around, and even though I'm late to the party yet again in 2017 (good reasons of course), 'From The Dead' picks up as if three years were in fact three days!

The Songs
Released in June 2017, this is a perfect riposte to 2014's 'Wild Stallions', and I think also the production is much better. The drums sound incredible, while the dual riffing is a sound to behold. There's a bit of Accept in the mix too, which makes this appealing from an 80's perspective. In the previous article I also mentioned Swedes Bullet, but seeing as that band is tied to the hip in relation to Accept, you get a good impression of Stallion's direction. I won't dwell too deeply into 'From The Dead', as all the songs are hugely appealing if you dig melodic trad metal with a hint of speed metal for good measure. Tracks like 'Hold The Line' (nothing like the Toto namesake), the relentless onslaught of 'Lord Of The Trenches' and 'Step Aside' are incredible high-octane tracks. Just to get you into the mood, the opening duo of 'Underground Society' and 'Down And Out' will ensure you have no dandruff left. No need to buy anti-dandruff shampoo, just order up a 50 minute dose of Stallion!

In Summary
Along with two other belters in the modern day (but trad metal scene) including Canadians Striker and fellow Germans Blizzen, Stallion are set for world domination.. haha! Now we have two articles on Stallion, the speed metal kings from Germany. All is well in my world. Do yourself a favour, track this down, and support High Roller Records at the same time.
