Yep in Argent, especially as Rod Argent and Jim we’re cousins.

Didn't Rodford also play in Argent and Charlie too?

There is a three-part article coming up for E.L.O (Eldorado, A New World Record and Out Of The Blue). Look out for it soon.

Pocketful - 1983 Pocketful (EP)

ARTIST: Pocketful
ALBUM: Pocketful (EP)
LABEL: ANR Records
SERIAL: ANEP-1001
YEAR: 1983

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN:

LINEUP: Marty Monseret - lead guitar, lead vocals * Brad Patrick - guitar, lead vocals * Del De Spain - keyboards, backing vocals * Eric Rollins - bass, backing vocals * Brian Fox - drums

TRACK LISTING: 01 Can't Turn Back * 02 Another Broken Heart * 03 Lost In Your Fire * 04 Baby Come Along

Background
I believe this five-piece were from Los Angeles, despite the record being recorded in El Paso TX. Go figure! Certainly Pocketful's label A&N (not A&M..) were from Fullerton, around the South L.A district (a la Anaheim, Santa Ana), and as Brian James Fox is the drummer here, he would later show up in the bands White Tiger and Silent Rage, who were also from the same area. From what I can tell, Pocketful played all over the Western U.S, and despite seeing a bunch of old clips put on YouTube by Fox, they only had this sole EP to show for all their efforts, which is a shame. The four tracks on offer are all pretty good, definitive early 80's melodic rock, which spans pomp/AOR to guitar oriented hard rock. The opener 'Can't Turn Back' is their best known track, especially the pomp keyboards throughout. The fourth and last track 'Baby Come Along' fuses the Michael Stanley Band along with other radio rock outfits from the same era. 'Another Broken Heart' is similar, but smoother, while 'Lost In Your Fire' is the band's hardest effort. The synth solo from Del De Spain is kinda full-on and zany too! Good band, who really should be better known among the GDM regulars.
