There is a three-part article coming up for E.L.O (Eldorado, A New World Record and Out Of The Blue). Look out for it soon.

Stoke City condemned 2 relegation. Who is the new manager? Paul Lambert.

Agreed Reyno about Clyde Best, further back is the story of Walter Tull which is quite heartbreaking, links to Northampton and lived in Rushden.

Big loss is Cyrille, only short time at Wolves, but I was at the Peterborough game where he scored the last minute winner, Cyrille and Laurie C, what a team.

I think many people forget guys like West Ham's Clyde Best whenever the subject of the impact of black footballers in the English game crops up. He was just as good as the West Brom trio years b4

Cyrille was part of the ground breaking so called 'three degrees' who did so much to break down racial barriers in Football back in the late 70's.R.I.P

Background
Thanks to a recent Genesis review from Malcolm, I noticed this latest effort from Mike Rutherford and his 80's spin-off band The Mechanics. The Mechs have long been out of circulation, with the odd album scattered across the years. Not that it really counts in the current day, as classic rock tends to rebirth such acts without giving a toss about the timeline. With an album cover that resembles The Sherbs 'Defying Gravity', it's appeal goes beyond the front jacket as we dip into a bunch of songs that infuse today's modern pop jangle with synth patterns and percussion rhythms. In the past, this could've been described as hi-tech pop, but since the 80's was three decades ago, it's fair to say that such descriptions have long since surpassed the music. There's no guitar to speak of, and much of this is background music to be honest. It's well played but kinda soul-less too.
