Background
Here's an obscure Canadian rocker operating in the CCM realm. His name is Bob Hanson, and this album 'Nuff Said' sits nicely in the pocket of other artists such as Paul Janz, Stan Meissner, John Wetton and Arlen Salte. He's from Vancouver, and the Paul Janz connection is a good one, as two members of his band: Tim McKenzie and Michael Root play on this CD. Image 7 recording artist Hope Sterling also appears, as do some musicians who appeared on her 1988 CD 'The Way Things Are'. Highlights include the brooding 'When It All Comes Down', which could be John Wetton revisited, the similarity is astounding. So too 'Child On The Run'. My favourite track is 'Open Arms Of Love' with its gorgeous chorus, plus the opening pair of 'Cross At The Light' and 'There Was A Time' work well too, as a set of rockers. 'Great Love' is also worth listening to, with its spacious sound and huge drums. There's a couple of ballads which drift aimlessly, plus the title track 'Nuff Said' has its roots in rockabilly, which doesn't really work here. Mostly though, this has its moments, and anyone with a hankering for Canadian CCM AOR should be in touch with this album.
