Yep in Argent, especially as Rod Argent and Jim we’re cousins.

Background
Here is the second LP from British rock trio The Outfield. Still getting over the success of their bright and sunny 1985 debut 'Play Deep', the band took two years to get to their follow up. For me, this is just as enjoyable as the previous album, most of these songs get a thumbs up, and it's good to get reacquainted with it once again.

The Songs
'Bangin' contained a brace of tracks which traversed the lower end of the Billboard singles charts. 'No Surrender' (which sounds like a Boulevard track (think 'Western Skies'), 'Bangin' On My Heart' and 'Since You've Been Gone' generated chart action, with the latter making it into the Top 40. The combination of Tony Lewis' captivating vocals and John Spinks melodic guitar lines makes for a pleasant re-run. The dark mood of 'Playground' is an album highlight, while 'Alone With You' and 'Main Attraction' offer different ends of The Outfield's musica spectrum. The first a light ballad, the second a boistrous rocker, perhaps one of the heaavier tracks I've heard from this trio.

In Summary
The band were very active from this point onward, with releases all the way through to 1998. They would release their third and final album for CBS with 1989's 'Voice Of Babylon', before moving on to MCA for two albums. More on those releases soon.

This band never disappointed me. Tony and John were an engaging duo to chat to as well in my experience.
