Background
Ralph and his band Day III originate from the Fairfield/Vacaville region, northeast of San Francisco. Kicking off in 1993, Day III have Christian rock origins and released this decent set of mid 90's melodic rock in 1996. There are some well produced efforts here, and GDM listeners should find something of use through these eleven tracks. Day III specialise in an acoustic/electric hybird form of melodic rock, then when they do pump it up, they sound rather tasty.

The Songs
My highlights include 'Through The Fire', a punchy number with an admirable hook-happy chorus. They seem to excel at up-tempo near pomp arrangements such as 'Blinded', that track is excellent. 'Help Me' pulses through the mid-tempo, somewhat similar to Allies in their better moments, the acoustic guitar solo was kinda different too, but nice nonetheless. 'No Tomorrow' is mostly acoustic but the smooth bass lines keeps it ticking along. 'Slippin' Away' is Day III's heaviest moment featuring a slightly distorted vocal and razor sharp riffs from Randy Benson. 'Right' is a growling rocker, the album then finishing with the impressive but moody 'I Want To Know.

In Summary
The lyrics border on preachy, but the music more than makes up for it. A year after this, the band vacated the scene, but returned ten years later as the band Missing Piece, though it would seem that venture is no longer in operation either. 'No Alternative' can be picked up on Ebay for a reasonable price, plus there are a couple of YouTube videos too, I've added one underneath for your reference.
