Background
Bad Radiator have been on my radar since their 2012 debut. This is their third album, and these Swedes are an unusual band to try and pigeon-hole. They are all over the musical soundscape, and to me, that's just fine and dandy. It doesn't take an Einstein to know how classy this lot are. They're not signed to a big label, preferring instead to go it alone on their own Crazy Feelgood Music label. I did enjoy last year's 'Shanghai' album, but silly me, never quite got around to reviewing that one. However, if it's any consolation, we did review the debut back in 2012. No such misfortune this time around.

The Songs
Reading some blurbs on the Net, the AOR Heaven Newsletter for instance describes BR along these lines: 'Bad Radiator's music blend styles ranging from the pop brilliance of Cutting Crew or Rick Springfield to the light AOR of Stage Dolls and Spin Gallery, whilst stopping off at Richard Marx for good measure.'. That sounds pretty close for mine. If you remember Norwegian band Stoneflower which we wrote about ages ago, and also Danish one-off wonders The Big Easy, then they too are very similar in delivery. Bad Radiator certainly know how to change things up. They sound very comfortable operating in the west-coast sub-genre, but Klas Bergwall's guitarwork offers up some heavier moments, which pushes their material across other sub-genres of rock. Eleven tracks all up. Mostly, Bergwall sets the pace early, and provides a solid backbone. Tracks like 'Keep Movin' On', 'Can You Feel The Heat' and 'Hey' all sound tasty, but even like the cooler subdued moments like the very AOR 'Black Cat' and 'I Forgive You Honey', or the ballad 'Fairytales' show what Bad Radiator are capable of.

In Summary
This album has been on repeat play since it arrived. The CD can be picked up from their website, or use an email contact: info@badradiator.com to make a direct inquiry. Oh, and I have to say, the cover art is very slinky, dark, abstract and very fetching! Demonic dark bunny indeed!
