I was a bit cranky last week, waiting for various things to happen with the website transition. God it's good to be back. Didn't Gary Glitter sing a song like that? dogrun

OK, all the YouTube videos are working again. Just use the YT link, and then encase in tags [ youtube] at the start, [/ youtube] at the end. Cool. Thumbs Up

There was a British outfit called SAY, but that was a decade or so ago. No relation, but this band is S.A.Y (notice the full stops) all the way from Sweden. They are related to another band called Stonelake. I don't know a lot about those guys, but they were fairly popular on some sister websites, but I think they weren't as pure AOR as S.A.Y are, even though they released a bunch of albums between 2006 and 2013. There's a mix of styles here, with similarities to other Swedish outfits as Niva, Ignition, Stratosphere and Norwegians TNT and Stoneflower and Finns Prayer. Most of the GDM audience might get some mileage here, others less so. I quite like S.A.Y, but I'll admit they are not breaking new ground.

The Songs
Jan Akesson is the main musician it would seem, and you can tell that he's heard just about every Scandi outfit going since the early 80's, such is his influence here. Peter Grundstrom as the lead vocalist also has his moments too, and the duo have a lot of history between them and work well as a team. Many of the songs are AOR friendly, but they don't whack you around the head like a pair of handbags at midnight. Certainly none truly stand out, much like Niva's material. Still, it's worth your while checking out the album, so you can make that decision for yourself. Standouts for me include the opener 'Tragedy' and the rather TNT like 'Dream On'.

In Summary
A likeable album nonetheless, but I'd suggest also, that for many hardened GDM regulars, this might be a touch too tame.

Listen to the track, Illusion, the riff at the start, just about bordering on TNT's, Everyone's A Star. Not that I'm complaining.
