Background
Sweden keeps pumping out one great band after another. Confess is the latest off the bandwagon. No doubt there'll be five others lining up tomorrow! Confess join the Scandi glam/sleaze market, already containing Reckless Love, Crashdiet, Ammotrack, Crazy Lixx and Pretty Wild. That's the top tier, imagine how many there are at the second tier! Let's get back to Confess, a band that's been in operation since 2008, with previous releases 'Lights Out' (2010) and an EP 'The Gin Act' (2012) backing up their potential with their latest release 'Jail'.

The Songs
Confess have got their image hands down. Countless visits to the hairdressers and a years supply of hardened hair gel at the ready, but what about the music? What about the songs? Oh yes, it's all about the chant-a-minute anthems, fiery guitars and a tempo challenged metronome. You gotta love the cleverly titled 'Relationshit', a song-title for the modern day.. haha! A big booming track high on attitude and octane. 'Scream' is the first official video from the CD, check it below to get a taste of Confess. 'Bloodstained Highway' is pretty rampant stuff, unforgiving musically which is all you can ask for in this genre. 'Setting Sails', 'Cardiac Arrest' and Get Me Down' are also a trio of faster paced gin-laced bullets. Do Confess know how to change it up? They sure do. 'Take Aim' is the sole ballad here, it veers to power-ballad levels eventually, and is quite good for a band of this type. The near 8 minute 'Intervention (Sin & Tonic, Pt. 2)' shifts to a pop metal sound. I quite liked this one actually, bright and breezy. Of interest, Confess rip into a cover of Tina Turner's 'What's Love Got To Do With It'. Nothing like the original, power-packed with energy and attitude.

In Summary
Thirteen tracks, and an entertaining package throughout. There's not a lot to this intellectually, just crank up the dial and prepare your ears for some aural damage. Check them out if the sleaze/glam thing is your game!
