Agreed Reyno about Clyde Best, further back is the story of Walter Tull which is quite heartbreaking, links to Northampton and lived in Rushden.

Big loss is Cyrille, only short time at Wolves, but I was at the Peterborough game where he scored the last minute winner, Cyrille and Laurie C, what a team.

I think many people forget guys like West Ham's Clyde Best whenever the subject of the impact of black footballers in the English game crops up. He was just as good as the West Brom trio years b4

Cyrille was part of the ground breaking so called 'three degrees' who did so much to break down racial barriers in Football back in the late 70's.R.I.P

Here's a new Swedish duo that are a 'hand fits glove' addition to GDM. Kings & Dreams play a sensational brand of Scandi AOR. This is more in tune with the 80's, even more so than beloved acts like Care Of Night, Work Of Art or Sonic Station, so that's saying something. K&D are the duo of Peo Petterson and guitarist Dan Bostrum. Petterson some of you may remember from his mid 90's solo career, including his great 1995 album 'Look What I've Started'. Peo and Dan have had K&D in operation since 2012, and two years later they are ready to roll.

The Songs
It's a big organ and synth blitz on '2000 Miles' that gets us underway on our journey. Very much in the melodic rock vein for starters. 'In Your Arms' shifts slightly westward to a rich vein of west coast, so totally likeable with a hint of pop/rock in the arrangement. Peo's vocal on this one is just brilliant. 'Moments Of Grace' could be mistaken for a Jim Jidhed track such is the similarity. The hi-tech acoustic singalong 'It's Been So Long' is the album's commercial moment, a good unplugged tune I reckon. K&D beef things up a bit on 'Mayday', sort of like Work Of Art meets fellow Swedes Crossfade. The shuffly rhythmic beats of 'Give It All Up' is straight-up Scandi west coast, this is the type of music lapped up by fans from Trondheim in the north to Copenhagn in the south.

OMG.. now the duo kick into high gear with 'Save My Soul', which is like Sonic Station re-imaged. This one is the rockiest track here, a real guitar rocker with more than a bit of beef in the mix. Awesome! 'Stay With Me' shuffles back to cruise mode, a huge contrast considering the previous track. 'Mirror Mirror' is just hugely melodic, I could throw a bunch of names at this track, but I think it would be better if you discovered them for yourselves. It's a lovely track nonetheless. K&D haven't quite finished with us yet, 'Down The Road' ploughing a smokey hard rock road, similar to acts like Alfonzetti and their contemporaries. The ambient intro to 'How Can I Go On' sets the scene, you gotta love this one.. soaring guitars, spacey synths. It has a breathy quality to it and completes what is an album of staggering quality.

In Summary
I won't spend too much time praising this Swedish masterpiece. You have to hear it for yourself. The album is available over at CD Baby, and is also carried by Georg over at AOR Heaven as well as Mike McPherson over at NEH Records, since I just checked their websites a few minutes ago. It's a quite beautiful album for mine, and could well sit in my top 10 by years end. Get acquainted with Kings & Dreams ASAP!
