Background
This U.S band has been around for what seems like forever, but guess what? There's no mention of them here at GDM. That is something that I intend to put to rest right here and now - with their new 2013 album 'SuckerPunch!' For those lucky enough to see the band at MRF III at the end of September 2013 then lucky you. Quite simply, this is killer melodic rock with a hint of Def Leppard and a definite swig of Harem Scarem circa their first two albums. Still signed to Kivel Records after all this time, Adriangale went off and did a mid-career stint as Crunch, appearing at the 2008 Firefest gig under that name, but they've returned to their original handle and all is well in the world. I have a few of their earlier albums stashed away, but never really got around to them until just recently thanks to a hint from GDM regular RKBLUEZ, and boy what a hint that was!

The Songs
The title track leads off with maximum impact. We could use all the boxing analogies in the book to describe this song.. hooks, killer punches, fistful of rock etc etc. And we'd be right on all counts! Clichés galore but well deserved. More analogies are used for the next track 'The Black And Blue', it really does sound like Harem Scarem as if in their prime, and that's a huge endorsement. 'When I Said You'd Be The One' with its stomping drum work and anthem like style is the real sing-a-long of the album. Adriangale lift it up a notch for the upbeat 'All About The Money', but things go viral with the sensational 'Believe', with 'Give Me A Sign' not too far behind. Surely by this stage, Pete Lesperance and Harry Hess must be looking at each other and scratching their heads in confusion! lol! The vocal choruses are right out of the 80's, and are an absolute highlight on the album. Things continue on in the same vein, 'What Will You Do', 'The World We Knew' both glorious rockers, but another album highlight rears its head in the form of 'Could Have Been Me', this one is guaranteed to sit in your car CD player for weeks on end. The album finishes up with the sole ballad 'You', again, it's Scarem like in nature, and I guess the comparison is hard to ignore all round.

In Summary
Adriangale mainstays Jamie Rowe, Vic Rivera and Eddie Campbell have all their bases covered with this sensational album. The production sounds mighty-fine to these ears, and at this late stage of the 2013 year, I know where this album is going. Yes, straight into my top 5 albums of the year. Check it out, and prove me wrong if you dare! lol!

Love the upfront in your face guitar sound...love the solo's and Jamie's vocals and let's not forget the songs and hooks...great stuff...the only way it could of been possibly better is if they used a real drummer.
