2013 continues to produce stunning AOR from Sweden. I know some think that this possibly couldn't keep continuing at a rate of knots, with new bands spun off what seems like a never ending production line. I'm certainly not complaining, and after hearing the latest contenders Care Of Night, all I'll say is 'bring it on!!' Not yet signed, it's only a matter of time, these guys sound amazing. The big name within the band is former Platitude and Seven Tears keyboardist Kristofer von Wachenfeldt. The vocals are spot on, keys are everywhere, and guitars are kitchen-edge cutting. Sharp and precise.

The Songs
This EP contains four booming fully produced tracks, with two demo tracks added on. It's just massive wall to wall AOR, kicked off by the huge and spacious intro to 'Cassandra', before slapping the accelerator pedal to the floor in the vein of fellow Swedes H.E.A.T. Just cerebral enlightening stuff. 'Say A Prayer' has a hint of Platitude's previous material, no doubt helped by Wachen's arranging style. Again, this one captures your melodic senses and threatens your pancreas with a huge sugar spike. The next two songs takes things to a new level where Care Of Night move into serious mode, 'Give Me Strength' is seriously attempting to unseat H.E.A.T from the title of Swedish AOR kings. The bridge and solo sections are utterly outrageous! For mine, the best track is 'Unify', starting out slow, but treacly thick with gooey slabs of melody. The chorus is simply killer, can't say anymore than that. Take a listen to the audio link below for evidence. The remaining two tracks are demos. 'Last Forever' and 'So Called Heart' have obviously been added to fill out the EP, and give some inkling as to the band's potential. But really, it's the first four tracks that do it for me.

In Summary
If this EP doesn't move you, then perhaps you need to add the colour pink to your surroundings and get re-established with the fluffy brigade. As mentioned above, I don't think it will take very long for this lot to be signed. The big question will be: by whom? Watch this space for more.. In the meantime, grab this EP any which way and be prepared to be dazzled.

This EP just dropped into the mailbox and was put into the CD player. Brilliant stuff! Can't wait for the full release by AOR Heaven.
