Background
The one and only album from gorgeous songtress, come temptress come actress Tane Cain. At the time Tane was the wife of Babys and Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain, so it was no surprise that with this musical pedigree beside her that an album from this budding rocker was going to result. Tane's other claim to fame was that she is the daughter of veteran actor Doug McClure, best remembered for his role in the TV show 'The Virginian' (he was the blonde one). Tane's music is not far removed from Pat Benatar or Laura Branigan, though this album has more 'beef' behind it than most, with a rhythm section that wouldn't feel out of place playing in a stadium of 100,000 people! For the best part the songs are period 80's material and though a lot of it doesn't stand the test of time, for what it's worth it's still a decent listen for those used to a bit of nostalgia.

The Songs
The opening brace of tracks 'Temptation' (god .. I remember seeing the video for this!), 'Danger Zone' and the very Laura Brannigan sounding 'My Time To Fly' are all strong songs. Neal Schon gets to blaze away on that track, plus the next one 'Crazy Eyes' in typical Journey fashion. 'Holdin' On' is a lovely bit of AOR melodrama while the ballad 'Almost Any Night' is a co-write between Beau Hill and AOR singer Sandy Stewart. The rest of the songs sort of meander, and don't strike any particular note with me unfortunately.

In Summary
If I recall, the album didn't have a great deal of luck on the charts, nor did Tane's marriage to Jonathan Cain which folded not long after. It seems also that her good looks have kept her in the limelight making appearances on TV and movies right up until this day under her maiden name Tane McClure.

Cool I liked this one much more than I thought I would. I even have a 3 track demo of stuff that never saw the light of day. Didn't she do some more 'adult orientated' movies? Just something I recall Jon Cain stating somewhere?

Yeah she did. Nothing too raunchy though.. perish the thought! I don't want my vision of the lovely Tane being sullied.. yummy

I love this record. Great songs and what can you say about Tane's voice.. superb. Was this ever released on CD?

Never officially released on CD. Too many politics involved in doing it, I guess....

Loved this album at the time, still sounds good today. Very much in the Benatar mould of the time. She had a serious band backing her up aswell (obviously with her Journey connections). Never been released on CD yet, so all the re-issue labels, get your arses into gear and get this out. The tracks she did off the 'Terminator' movie were under the name of Tryangles if i remembe rightly.

Yes, you have right, the bandname was Tryangles.
There also exists an UR album from her with very good songs.

As Tane McCLure (daughter of 'Trampus' :0) ) she turned up singing backing vocals on the John Purdell and Duane Baron produced 'Stranded' album from Tangier.

I've always been impressed with the quality of this album as well as her Terminator soundtrack songs. I believe she had another solid follow up album in her by the sounds of the Terminator songs and various demo material floating around.
