Background
Last year, we had the Swedish band CC Rock thrill us with their debut EP. This year in 2008, countrymen Danger do the honours, with their EP 'First Touch'. Really, this is a band that Kelv Hellrazer should be reviewing. With an image that smacks of glam, and a sound that marries glam with melodic hard rock, Danger are Sweden's latest and greatest. These guys have been compared to fellow Swedes Crashdiet, and I guess this would be a good starting point. Factor in the hardened melodic rock of Aces High and perhaps Easy Action, you might have a better handle on what Danger are all about. This is their (believe it or not) fifth release, their previous efforts were singles, but this is their first longer release (an EP), which showcases their ability as they improve from year to year.

The Songs
The guitars are laid down thick and heavy for the opener 'First Touch'. The riffs are scorching and the chorus gang chants are straight out of the Tigertailz lyric book! Second up 'Miss Money' also riffs hard, and as per this genre, is very anthemic. 'Hey You' is a guitar rocker with attitude, so too is the next track, where the guitars are revved up to red-alert level - 'California Red', which leaves you thinking that perhaps Hanoi Rocks might also be part of the Danger musical mix. Danger crank it up on the party-anthem 'Shove It', of which the chorus suggests that to us: 'why don't you shove it up your ass'.. lol! This is hardened sleaze at its best. 'On The Run' is the bonus track on the EP, and finishes up more in a metal vein than either glam or sleaze. The chorus has that 80's Pantera edge to it.

In Summary
The band were featured at Sweden Rock Festival this year, and one wonders what direction this band will take in the near future. I think they have enough chops behind them to be picked by a bigger label, but whether glam/sleaze holds any potential in the music biz is unsure. Certainly worth keeping an eye on.
