Boetz - 2002 Four Track Sampler

ALBUM: 4 Track [EP]
LABEL: Balls Out Records
YEAR: 2002

LINEUP: Ernie (Ernest Robert) Boetz - vocals, guitars, bass, drums * Tim Golden - drums

TRACK LISTING: 01 Southern Tears * 02 Oh Hell Yeah * 03 No Damn Good * 04 Lorion

Here's Ernie again with another HM blast of retro rock, all the way from Atlanta Georgia. Ernie continues on from his recent 'Call To Arms' effort, with a new 4 track EP. Obviously keeping his name in the forefront with fans and press prior to his next release.

The Songs
It's full-steam ahead, with guitar grunt on these four tracks, coming off like an American version of Motorhead at the best of times. There's not a lot of finesse going on, I supposed that's to be expected. Opening up with 'Southern Tears', this one is a bit of a power-burst, with a southern blues twinge. The Motorhead comparison kicks in on 'Oh Hell Yeah', with more guts than a fat guy on a lifetime diet of KFC! Excellent stuff. The other two 'So Damn Good' and 'Lorion' tend towards a heavier blues feel, zeroing in on that stoner style with ease.

In Summary
Powerful no-nonsense stuff, full of aggression with little subtlety.. it's just the way that Boetz likes to be recognised. Now, where's ma beer?
