Jorn - 2000 Starfire

Jorn Lande - vocals

It has become quite clear to all and sundry that Jorn Lande has moved into the big league of rock vocalists, and now commands the same sort of respect that hard working peers such as Joe Lynn Turner, Jeff Scott Soto and Goran Edman have already achieved. A busy man indeed, playing with Florida rockers Millenium as well as touring with Yngwie Malmsteen of late, and yet he still finds time to put out a solo album!

The Songs
Rather than exclusively focusing on his own original material, Jorn decides to treat us to a few reworks of some timeless rock classics. These include: Journey - Edge Of The Blade (Frontiers) ; Foreigner - Break It Up (Foreigner 4); Deep Purple - Burn; City Boy - The Day The Earth Caught Fire; and Jefferson Starship's 'Just The Same (off Freedom At Point Zero). All wonderful efforts and played as close to the mark as was possible with Jorn giving the vocal icing on top. Of the originals, the title track 'Starfire' is an impressive effort, as is the mind numbingly heavy 'Gates Of Fear', check out the chainsaw guitar with all sorts of strange keyboard parts scattered throughout.

In Summary
A great introduction to a real rock talent, sure to venture onto bigger and better things in future. The other significant project you have to hear Jorn sing on is the excellent new Millenium CD 'Long Live Rock 'n' Roll'. Hopefully this will be out very soon.
