Teer - 2000 Teer

Dan Michaels - vocals, keyboards
Shane French - guitars
Nathan Boone - guitars
Don Crandall - bass
John Teer - drums

Renowned for their great live performances at the God's shows over the past couple of years, Teer have recently had their debut album released by Frontiers Records. While many of Frontiers previous artists have either been in the AOR or Euro Rock mould, Teer are unashamed American hard rockers.

The Songs
'Heaven's Not Enough' gets things started nicely with a sound akin to Guild of Ages, but catchier. 'Sadie's' beginning lulls you into thinking this is a straight out ballad, but then the guitars chime in and the house gets rockin'. 'Romeo' is a standout track. A crunchy Dokken-style guitar riff is backed up with an exceptional chorus. 'Man of the World' is a Firehouse-type ballad. A cool, moody rocker best describes 'Vampires Lullaby'. 'Tell me it's over' has a memorable rocking chorus and then it's into 'Monday Mourning', another ballad/rocker. 'Heart on a String', 'Beggin' and 'Pride' are all good quality rockers in the Dokken and Guild of Ages vein.

In Summary
Although Ralph Santolla has done a good job on production duties, I would like to see a crisper, clear sound for album #2. All-in-all Teer have performed admirably, capturing the feel of good-time hard rock that is sadly lacking in this day and age. So, if you are still waiting for Dokken and Firehouse to find their old form, give Teer a go. I'm sure they will fill the gap nicely.
