NOBODYS FOOL - 2002 (2002, DEMO)
Milosz Wozniak - vocals
B.K - guitars
Willy - bass, keyboards
Steve Mercer - drums
Background
Australian band Nobodys Fool return with a brief four track sampler, following on from their 2001 album 'Nobodys Fool II'. They continue the guitar-heavy approach heard previously, though this time around, axe-meister B.K really gets to show off his chops, with some lovely runs and solos. The sound is still unashamedly eighties, complete with chant-a-long choruses and L.A guitar slinger antics.
The Songs
With '2002', we get three rockers and one ballad. The pick of the bunch is 'Hold On'. It's an anthemic rouser all the way through. 'Bye Bye' is another intense rocker though the chorus does more to annoy than anything else, with the repetitive strains of 'bye bye bye' being sung over the top of some orchestral stabs. Not a good combination I'm afraid. 'Inside Out' is a mid-tempo rocker where the guitar sound is suitably heavied up to good effect. The token rock ballad 'Forever' has it's moments. Dreamy and wistful on one hand, sonic and soaring on the other.
In Summary
'2002' sees the continued and gradual improvement of Nobodys Fool. As this CD was put together as a label showcase, it will be interesting to see what becomes of their future. Good luck chaps. Go to their website listed below to listen to samples of the CD.
