There is a three-part article coming up for E.L.O (Eldorado, A New World Record and Out Of The Blue). Look out for it soon.

Stoke City condemned 2 relegation. Who is the new manager? Paul Lambert.

Agreed Reyno about Clyde Best, further back is the story of Walter Tull which is quite heartbreaking, links to Northampton and lived in Rushden.

Big loss is Cyrille, only short time at Wolves, but I was at the Peterborough game where he scored the last minute winner, Cyrille and Laurie C, what a team.

I think many people forget guys like West Ham's Clyde Best whenever the subject of the impact of black footballers in the English game crops up. He was just as good as the West Brom trio years b4

Cyrille was part of the ground breaking so called 'three degrees' who did so much to break down racial barriers in Football back in the late 70's.R.I.P

R.I.P the great Cyrille Regis. West Brom legend, plus Coventry, Wolves and Villa too. Aged 59.

Thanks to the Fins, my bank account is becoming severely depleted. Just as I'm coming to grips with one after another amazing Finnish bands giving me heart palpitations and my wallet a major hammering, along come Twilightning to blow it all to hell. Though this album was released earlier this year, I've only just grabbed it and thankfully in time for it to become my best album of the year. Yep, I can't get enough of this baby and I probably won't for a long time to come. If you thought Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius had cornered the market for majestic melodic metal, then you obviously haven't heard Twilightning. That is in no way a poor reflection on either of those bands whose albums this year are also excellent. It's just that Twilightning are mind-bendingly good at their style of metal, which happens to hold a very close place to my, thankfully, still beating heart. What the hell are guys this young doing playing this kind of metal in the first place. Thank god someone from their generation hasn't heard of grunge and nu-metal.

The Songs
If you're finding my ramblings a little too syrupy and sweet, then you should probably stay clear of 'Delerium Veil'. No aggressive metal here, just plenty of speed, melodies upon melodies and choruses that sound like they've been dropped in a candy factory vat. Bloody hell there are some fantastic songs on here, and surprisingly I can actually pick out a winner. Like the album, it would most likely be my choice for song of the year. 'At The Forge' is a perfect example of what extremely melodic metal is about. Twilightning have got every base covered, from a heavy weight vocalist to virtuoso guitar playing, to great song-writing.

In Summary
Just when I think my financial situation has recovered I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Twilightning, Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius announce a tour together. Travel from New Zealand to Finland. I think I need to talk to my bank manager!!!
