My imagination runs wild thinking about what might have been if 'Good Time Music' had been released 6-7 years earlier. With a fantastic amalgamation of Firehouse, Nelson and a heavy dash of Extreme I'm certain that Slyboyz would have had a shot at the top in the late 80's. Although 'Good Time Music' is basically a combination of three previous releases by Slyboyz ('What Comes After II', 'Slyboyz II', 'Acoustic 1994') the songs fit together effortlessly.

The Songs
While some bands struggle with just one singer, Slyboyz were blessed with two very capable vocalists in Jeff Fraser and Rich Figurido. While Jeff took on the main lead vocal slot, there are moments where they interchange and the quality from both is remarkable. This also added to the harmony vocals in the choruses, which are a major highlight of the album. It really doesn't take much effort to get engrossed with such energetic rockers as opener 'Solitaire', the overly Extreme-ish 'Lil' Too Young' and 'Tell Me A Story'. Slyboyz not only deliver on the rocking front. The three ballads - 'What Is Love (Without You)', 'The Higher You Get', 'Autumn Angel' - are all high class, again showcasing the talents of the dual vocal team.

In Summary
A more apt album title you wouldn't find and 'Good Time Music' provides much more than you might expect from a group with the name Slyboyz. You'll now find two of the guys in Savannah, who have released a couple of decent albums in recent years on the Z-Records label.
