Background
Boy, these guys have been around a while now, and are very much a contender as a glory days band. Antics have been in the biz since 1980, and have been based around the state of Illinois, though they've played all over the midwest, and as many as 3000 shows. Now that's some serious gigging. Primarily a blues rock band, they do have a smattering of keyboards, and mix their styles between guitar driven high energy blues rock, and AOR. I quite enjoyed this album, recognising it as a culmination of all those years of experience. On one hand the Stevie Ray Vaughan influences are evident, while on some other tracks midwest luminaries Head East, Shooting Star and Florida's Bobby Friss rear their head. All good stuff. Floyd Short's vocals are comparable to Michael Stanley at times, while the keyboard drive throughout adds that extra bit of icing on the cake.

The Songs
Album opener 'Don't Be Lonely' is Head East style AOR as is the fluid sounding 'Burnin' Up The Track'. The ballads 'Heart And Soul' and 'Miracle' tug away at the heart strings, while their attempts to rock out in hardened blues fashion is probably where their strength is, as evidenced on 'Bad Boys', 'Florida' and the final track 'Chase Those Blues Away' which is a frenetic workout, no doubt sounding awesome live I'm sure. Full on boogie rock 'n' roll.

In Summary
A good workmanlike band who are doing great things to be in the biz this long. Very dedicated and here's hoping that they can> get some more material together for another release. Don't leave it too long chaps!
