Yep in Argent, especially as Rod Argent and Jim we’re cousins.

Didn't Rodford also play in Argent and Charlie too?

BISS - 2002 BISS

Doc Heyne - guitars
Fernando Garcia - vocals
Barboys - Backing vocals

It's been a good six years since Victory released 'Voiceprint', and the last time we heard Fernando Garcia. Whether or not Victory is a going concern is a mystery, but Fernando has come out of the wilderness on this new release by BISS. Partnering Fernando is guitarist Doc Heyne, who has worked both as a solo artist and with Mad Max. Together they form the nucleus of BISS. It is interesting to note, though, that Fernando is not credited with any of the song writing, which makes me wonder if BISS actually started out as a Doc Heynes solo album with Fernando being brought in to do the vocals.

The Songs
Regardless of how it came together the result is an impressive collection of European heavy rock, bordering on metal. Pretty Maids meets M.ILL.ION is how I would describe it. It's clear that Fernando has lost none of his vocal charisma. Though I haven't always taken to Mr Garcia's style, on BISS it fits in seamlessly with the heavier style of material. I'm guessing that many of our readers won't be familiar with Doc Heynes. Well, the guy has created some nasty but melodic riffs, and can shred with the best of them. The most memorable moments come at the beginning of the album with the first three tracks 'Circle Of Time', 'God' and 'Electricity' being absolute belters. 'Electricity' has one of the catchiest choruses you'll hear, similar to Victory. The choruses are one of the best parts of this album. Though it's pretty much a riff fest, Fernando and Doc haven't sacrificed in the harmony department. I'd also like to know who the drummer is as the drum work was top notch. The production from Michael Voss is superb.

In Summary
It's pretty simple really. Fernando Garcia sings his bollocks off, Doc Heynes tears up the fret board and you'll be singing along to the choruses. One question though, what the hell does BISS mean?
