One very talented dude here. This guy hangs out at L.A West Coast Boulevard. Where all the session cats reside. With a lineup like this, it's not difficult to see that this is going to be good. Somewhere between the hi-tech AOR of Mr Mister and Planet 3, mixing in the softer bits of Chicago and Stephen Bishop, is where you'll end up with Bill Meyers. Bill seems to have had a session background and as a songwriter, and the end result for 'Color Of Truth' is a laid back West Coast oriented effort, and a good one at that.

The Songs
Songs like 'Perfect Crime' and the Toto influenced 'Say What You Mean' are right at the AOR end of the spectrum, while 'Style' and 'The Sounds Of Rhythm' have a very urban busy streetlife vibe to them. The softer efforts like 'I'm Still Standing' and the duet 'Just Say The Word' (with Sally Dworsky) show another side to Meyers approach, while 'Halfway There' is an infectious gospel flavoured workout, not as bad as it seems, in fact it's great.

In Summary
A few co-writes on here, with big contributions from Glen Burtnick, Kevin McCourt (who in 1997 also released an album by the same name.. what gives? Is there a connection?), and even Kevin Raleigh. A big thanks also goes to Steve Croes, Jeff Rona and Eric Persing for assisting Bill with all the keyboard programming. As mentioned, fans of West Coast should be checking this out in much the same way as young male teens are checking out Paris Hilton's acting abilities.. gulp!
